Born in 1969 as Nathaniel Dawayne Hale,
Nate Dogg came from Long Beach California. In fact, the natural talent
of Nate Dogg was recognized since early stage when as a kid he began singing in the New Hope Trinity Baptist Choir where his father, Daniel Lee Hale, served as a pastor. Then Nate
Dogg soon dropped out of high school in Long Beach at the tender age of 16 and enlisted in the United Marine Corps, serving there three years. But this did not last long, has a reputation for being discharged dishonorably. Talent in singing then led him to join forces with his cousin Snoop Dogg and their friend Warren G in 1991 forming a trio called 213 in Long Beach, California but were finally able to release an album only in 2004. Nate
Dogg came to be recognized when he made his debut on Dr. Dre’s 1992 album, The Chronic. This singing style sort of became his trademark, and was received enthusiastically by both fans and critics. With this success he went on to sign with Death Row Records the following year. Year 1994 saw him releasing his first hit single, ‘Regulate’ with Warren G. This was followed by his debut album under Breakaway Records in 1998 after a rather uproarious time at Death Row Records. This album was aptly titled G funk Classic Vol 1&2. Then the third was followed in late 2001 called Music & Me on Electra Records.
However some of
the greatest hits of Nate Dogg are not his solo ventures but from those in collaboration with other hip hop artists. According to a survey, Nate Dogg is estimated to have contributed and featured in over sixty singles chart. Some of his most well-known ones are Can’t deny it, Area Codes with Ludacris, 21 Questions with 50Cents, If We with Mariah Carey and Ja Rule and various others. Also his self titled album was scrapped in the middle of 2005 and many tracks he had already completed were released for sale on the official Electra website. |
