Nate is reported to
have kidnapped Rhoda and kept her in Lakewood, California home and after
assaulting her, set her mother’s car on fire. Still there were enough
evidence for Nate to stand on trial. A couple of SWAT team
arrested Nate Dogg from his Pomona home and was booked for kidnapping,
terrorist threat, domestic violence and arson and held in lieu of
$1million bail. But some of the charge were dropped as the ex girlfriend
refused to cooperate, saying she couldn’t send her childs father to
jail. Still there were enough evidence for Nate to stand on trial.
Infact after his 1996 conviction in a Los Angeles drug case, it was
illegal for him to possess a weapon. Nate Dogg did plead guilty for the
unmarked gun possession and avoided jail time because of the case of
kidnapping. Well, accepting the offer to reduce the felony charge to
misdemeanor possession of an unmarked firearm in return for a guilty
plea, the Norfolk Superior Court Judge Michael Cowell placed the rapper
on three years probation along with a $ 1000 fine and ordered that the
firearm should be destroyed. If he was convicted, he could have faced
upto three years in state prison. The unmarked gun was discovered by the
Los Angeles County SWAT team while busting the rapper for the kidnapping
offence. This happened during his Dr. Dre’s Up in Smoke tour, just by
paying the $ 1 million bail was able to rejoin his hip hop tour. Out of
the six charges, five of them was dropped saying that there was not
enough evidence to hold him of the charges arson, battery, kidnapping,
domestic abuse and terrorist threat as the victim refused cooperation.
Well it seems as if Nate Dogg would always be in the limelight, not only
for his talented rapping but all these arrests; he is also reputed to
have been dismissed with dishonor from the Marine Corps where he served
for three years. |
